Assalam O Alikum,
Hope you are doing well and are in the best of health and happiness.
Being an avid and passionate reader of your articles, I feel obliged to write this mail to invite your kind attention to a matter of utmost importance which has disappointed a lot of your fans. You have always been very detailed and well-researched in your posts in general, however being human we all can mistake and I am sure such a genuine mistake took part from your good-self. Equally I have the faith that you will rectify the mistake by writing on the other side of the picture and the missed facts as below.
Your recent column on Facebook focused on a few points while missing some very vital and important information. Unfortunately it showcased a wrong picture of the matters to your reader who like me have total faith in what you write. However as I said before I am 100% sure it is just a human error.
Below are the major points from the column as well as some facts related to them which show the entire picture:
1. There should have been strong protests in that FB’s (Facebook) administration should have been contacted to tell them of the feelings of their users.
There were strong protests so much so that literally chains were made and HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of people emailed and called Facebook’s administration showing their displeasure and mentioning that this was a violation of their OWN guidelines.
But the response was …………………………. NO RESPONSE. Yes, total Ignorance.
There were no replies to emails and as soon as people would refer to the issue the calls were hanged up. I know this as I was personally involved in the campaign and hundreds of students in Lahore and London alone will vouch for this.
2. Facebook is a platform which provide everyone an equal opportunity to express themselves and it is just some sick people spreading hatred.
Having spent considerable time in Western Europe I used to believe the same until I got fully involved in the matter and the truth started to come out, which unfortunately was very ugly and full of bias and hatred towards Muslims.
While FB’s administration defended their actions and showed their SUPPORT for the attacks on and ridicule of Prophet Muhammad PBUH, Allah and Islam in their statements to BBC and Fox news citing “Freedom of Expression”, there was clear hypocrisy and double standards to say the least.
In sharp contrast to the above they were quick to not only remove any content praising Hitler or questioning Holocaust (NOT EVEN ATTACKING ANY FAITH) but even the accounts of such users were immediately TERMINATED.

After reading the above it would be crystal clear that unfortunately Mark Zukerberg’s Facebook is following a clearly biased anti-Muslim policy. It might be worth mentioning here that the Harvard dropout Zukerberg was renowned for his unequivocal support of Israel and Zionism besides attempted Hackings and fraud with his seniors (recently documented in the Hollywood movie and widely available online.

3. We should have developed an alternate and promote it as a mean of genuine and practical protest and teach FB a lesson in corporate ethics.
Let me begin with Congratulating you that indeed this was done and it was Pakistani Muslim youth who took the initiative. Millat Facebook (MFB) was launched within 2-3 Days and was recognised globally as a potent threat to Facebook around 29th May 2010.
- Despite several hacking attempts and three times taking down the site, MFB has become the LARGEST Social network by any Muslim country
- With OVER 400,000 Members and is constantly growing. In terms of recognition it has reached the level that Facebook took 7 Years to reach and
- Which is no ordinary feat by any means.
Unfortunately like all other walks of life, the attitude of the majority of those in powerful positions in the country ignored or downplayed when the world media was hailing it as a big achievement and something very positive coming out from Pakistan.

4. Sir Syed’s way should be followed where he wrote a rebuttal to a blasphemous book by a British Official.
Totally agree with you here. And the way as you describe was to refute and bring a successful competitor with consistent efforts over a long period of time which resulted in the eventual success of the truth.

Allah Has Created all Of us. you should write Allah first, then Muhammad(PBUH) then Islam. Even Sahabah-e-Akram Always Love and Respect ALLAH First and Always and then Allah’s Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
I have noticed many times, People give respect to Muhammad(PBUH) (Which is Good!), More than Allah(Not Good), And yet Many Dont Practice Islam, WHY?
Even On the 1st Kalme-e-Taiyebah, Allah name is written in short letters and Muhammad(PBUH) name is written bigger then Allah’s name, On Masjids and on Parlimemt building etc. Have People Forgotten Who is Their Creator? and Who Will Put Them To Death?

You are not the one to judge what his faith is. I have gone through your post and I totally agree with you. Javed sb is also one of my favorite writers and I am a keen follower of his writings. The moment he joined FB,I was in a great pain. I had been a great admirer of FB but had deactivated my account amid those hatred content against our Holy Prophet P.B.U.H. I was also of the opinion that the medium which is very biased and is evidently used against Islam and the Holy Prophet P.B.U.H; if at least abondened can be the only thing we could do. It was difficult at that moment. Leaving all social activities on FB in the middle, all friend, all groups and other interesting stuff was little hard in beginning. Though it was painful in the start but it is fine now. And yes just taking out FB from life now has not resulted into some big loss now. Javed Sb’s recent column for joining back FB was very difficult to digest. I this time culd’nt get convinced with his mostly convincing arguments. I also desperately wanted him to go for some other medium.
Your content is exactly what I ever wanted to say. Please ensure that it must reach Javed Sb. I know the moment he switches to some other more acceptable social medium his fan following will reach millions. But for FB, we are really sorry Javed Sb. It was a decision of choice between you an the Honor of my Prophet (P.B.U.H) and it is very easy for me to decide that on whose side I have to stand against your logic.

I joined MFB right after its launch in May, but within 20 minutes I deleted my account as it was looking like I am back in eighteenth century again. I mean to say is we definitely want to refer Islamic products, but there should be some standards. I will be looking forward until MFB came with a new standardized form.

Dear Omer,
Your letter to Mr Javed Ch is very much informative and yes you’re right, it could be a human error. MFB initiative was great at that time, their administration should contact PTA to give them an alternative option as they’ve asked all cellular companies of Pakistan to block their BIS services till further notice and because of that step more then 3 million subscribers of different cellular companies are facing problem using Internet Services.
As far as joining FB again concern, I personally think that fight against wrong by staying there is not bad either.

what I get from his reply is he want Muslims to be isolated from other world that’s exotic as his degrees and “affiliations”. We should not cut our self from rest of the world and just because few people try to create chaos we defiantly don’t want to be so ignorant to deny every non Muslim’s opinion all these commotions will vanish eventually as time pass but we should remain calm and patience like our prophet did!

Just a clarification from Mr Omer Zaheer Meer ……….. Prophet PBUH, Allah and Islam are given in this order not due to the order of respect (God Forbid) but in the order that FB started attacks on them which started with the ridicule of Prophet PBUH.

Some people says that boycott is not a good option.I completely agree with them but what we can do if the environment is not neutral. We can never win a cricket match if the umpires supports the opponent team. The facebook administration allows users to create fan pages against Allah ,Prophet Mohammad(S.A.W) and Islam but they did not allow users to create a page against hitler,holocaust etc as mentioned by the omar zaheer meer. If the administration is himself not neutral than how I defend Islam on facebook. If I create a page against jews than they simply delete my account . Is this Justice ? How I defend Islam on facebook ? We can’t do anything against them.
